I have been involved with horses my entire life and riding since I was 2, I began jumping when I was 3, then when I was 11 my cousins introduced me to the world of rodeo and I haven’t looked back since! I’ve competed in Little Britches Rodeo, High School Rodeo and Canadian Intercollegiate Rodeo while I received my diploma in Agricultural Management with a Major in Finance.

After college I went on to get my certification in Advanced Equine Massage Therapy and Vertebral Realignment, since then I have expanded into different therapies to add to my arsenal with the hope of one day making our ranch a rehab centre/spa for horses. I want to be able to help all types of horses starting from the inside out.

A little history behind the name, my dad Ken Pearson, used to raise bucking bulls in the 1990's, he was Special FX Rodeo Stock. He used to breed them, buck them, record their styles and weed out the duds then sell them to stock contractors. One named Shark Tale, even made it to the NFR (as you can tell he had a young daughter at the time lol). Our main breeding bull, Cody, was so quiet that when we went to pasture check in the summer, my dad would throw me up on his back then walk to check the cows and their calves. I grew up watching practices on Saturday nights, where I got to see some historic cowboys, some at the start of their careers, ride what we had raised. I always wanted to find a way to honour the history of our family and what better than a trustworthy brand, who has your best interest at heart

My main focus with Special FX is to bring in the best products (that ACTUALLY work) and make sure they’re readily available for when you need them most. I am very put off by those who sell products just for the sake of making a quick buck. They sell a product that they can market and talk you into but not one that actually works for what you need it to. That’s not who I am nor who I ever will be. The products in my store I have used just about every single one on my own horses and for anything I have not, I have friends (who fit the bill for that specific product more) try them out for me.

When you come to me asking for help or to get more information on something I carry, what you will get from me is a whole hearted personal experience from which I can confidently recommend what I think will work for you and your horse. That’s not to say I couldn’t be mistaken, but know I’m not trying to lead you wrong, in fact for me it’s a goal to make yours and your horses lives a little bit better if I can.
